The X-Sauce Merida Factory Team has officially presented its new 2026 season, reinforcing its commitment to Spanish mountain biking and a renewed squad that combines youth and experience.
The new X-Sauce Merida Factory Team outfit continues to be designed by Inverse, a brand with more than 50 years of experience in manufacturing custom cycling sports apparel.
A balanced and competitive team
In the 2026 season, the team will feature riders who will be cycling in the colours of the X-Sauce Merida Factory Team in the leading Spanish national and international competitions:
- Lucía Macho, in the team for the third consecutive season, remains a key figure in the Elite Women’s category, after achieving a third place finish in the final of the Spanish Cup. Her goal is a podium finish in the individual events.
- Lara Pita, from Galicia, has joined the team after various regional podium finishes, and is looking to consolidate her position as a leading figure in Spain in her second year as a junior rider.
- Silvia Simón, from Aranda de Duero (Burgos), combines road cycling and MTB, and is making her mark in Spanish national competitions thanks to her constant progress.
- Francesc Barber, the Spanish Junior and Under 23 champion, is starting out in the premier class, and aims to break through to the Spanish elite once again.
The team will focus primarily on the XCO Spanish Cup, without neglecting events in the Shimano Super Cup Massi, Green Series and the Superprestige competition, as well as selected road, MTB marathon and gravel competitions. This sporting versatility will permit comprehensive training for the riders and will enhance the team’s prestige.
“This season sees a step forward in our project: training, development, support for young cyclists and backing for leading figures in our format,” says Chus Castellanos, the team’s sporting director.
