Ricardo Rodriguez is an outstanding footballer and a key member of the Swiss national football team. With 127 international caps, he is second on the list of players with the most appearances in the history of his national team.

Born in Zurich on 25 August 1992, he is an outstanding Swiss footballer who has left a major imprint on the international football scene. The son of José Manuel Rodríguez, a Galician emigrant from Crecente (Pontevedra), and Marcela Araya, of Chilean descent, Ricardo grew up in a multicultural environment that had a major influence on his identity.

Switzerland’s multiculturalism is reflected in its national team, and Ricardo Rodriguez is an iconic example of this diversity. His commitment and performance have contributed to enhancing the identity of a team that celebrates the integration of diverse cultures and traditions.

The 32-year-old began his career with Zurich before moving to the Bundesliga with VfL Wolfsburg, where he established himself as one of the best full-backs in the world. He subsequently played in Serie A with AC Milan, followed by with clubs including PSV Eindhoven and FC Torino. Last summer, he signed for Real Betis Balompié of Seville, where he continues to make his mark in elite soccer.
